Overview

The picturesque chapel of Agios Sergios is located a few meters above the Community Council building in one of the most densely populated and oldest neighborhoods of the village. Its modesty and the fact that it is so close to the courtyards of the surrounding houses is remarkable. This reinforces the belief that these chapels were small family churches and the Saint who usually bore the name of the benefactor, their guardian and patron. From this chapel comes the 14th century icon of Panagia Glykofilousa, which evokes chills and awe. The church is liturgized on the 7th of October on the Saint's feast day. Unfortunately, today this remarkable chapel is in danger of collapsing.
